Krista and Andrew 08/08/09

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

Krista, Andrew, and Krista’s mom, Aileen, met with me back in March and we hit it off huge! What a sweet family:)

Krista wanted her wedding to be classy in shades of white, pink, and black.  We accomplished it using papery white Ranunculas, white Roses, light pink Sweet Peas, dark Leucadendron, Scabiosa, and Nerine Lilies in the bride’s bouquets as an added bonus.  I got to have some fun by finishing off the bouquet with a polka dot ribbon.

They had their wedding and reception at the enormous Grace Church where I decorated the altar with swags of greenery and a flowery unity candle.  The trio of centerpieces kept people talking till the end of the reception.

The beautiful cake was done by Linda Frolund, a super cute lady and her daughter, and we had such a great time decorating it!

Enjoy!

A review from the bride as noted on Wedding Wire:

Carra was wonderful to work with. Her creativity and flexibility made everything absolutely gorgeous. She worked with other vendors, i.e. cake & reception to make everything beautiful. She was very willing to stay and add special touches to things like the table with place cards and guest book table. The arrangements on the tables at the reception were more beautiful than we could have imagined. I would recommend La Petite Fleur to anyone.

08/01/09 Jinju and Son

My friend Sara wanted me to do Happy Hour with her at a restaurant downtown St. Paul that I had yet to try (I know, shocking!). When we walked in were greeted by a guy whom I recognized from gradeschool…Son!  I’m not even going to get into how many years it’s been since I saw him, but it’s been a while.  While we were catching up I mentioned that I now did wedding flowers for a living.  He told me that unfortunately he had already booked a florist for his upcoming wedding.  I gave him my card anyway so we could catch up via email.

A couple months later, Jinju, his fiance, called me and told me that she wasn’t thrilled about the floral plans that she currently had with another florist, mainly her centerpieces.  We met and came up with a new plan for not only her centerpieces, but for her bouquets, boutonnieres, and ceremony decor as well.

Her bouquet ended up being my favorite to date incorporating gorgeous Sahara Roses, plum colored artichokes, my favorite, Fiddlehead Ferns,  wine Calla Lilies, folded Aspidestra leaves, Cymbidium Orchids, plum Dahlias, and something I added at the last minute because it looked so damn good at the wholesaler, Blushing Bride Leucadendron- HOT!!!!!! Son’s bout was one of the Blushing bride blooms, the fiddlehead ferns, Kangaroo Paw, Hypericum Berries, and variegated loops and sprays of Lily Grass.

The ceremony and reception were both located at International Market Square where the Catering and Event Staff, D’Amico, were flawless in their speedy execution. The altar was super duper romantic with tons of candles in my plethora of rental vases and a generous sprinkling of Dendrobium Orchids.  As a surprise to Son and Jinju, I used 8 of the large centerpieces as part of the aisle decoration with Rose petals connecting them. It was so pretty! Take a look…

These first 5 pictures are compliments of Amy Jeanchaiyaphum of eyelovephoto.com …gorgeous!

08/01/09 Cheryl and James

Cheryl attended Katie and Joe’s wedding last year where I did the flowers and decor.  I loved them so I knew I’d love Cheryl.  We ha planned for the berries, the Gerbera Daisies, Cymbidium Orchids, Zinneas, yellow Poms, Ruscus, and Rosemary, but I added a few things that I knew would take the bouquets to the next level.  We added Craspedia (Billy Balls),  substituted Agapanthus for Hyacinth, and threw in some bright orange Asclepsia.  Everything was so bright and vibrant- LOVED IT!
