2/6/09 Northwestern Mutual Gala

Friday, February 27th, 2009

Having friends in the right places is key as far as landing good corporate work like this one.  Thanks to Drew, see hard labor and great photos he’s taken for me on another wedding- http://lapetitefleurmn.com/news/?p=1155 , I was fortunate enough to do the centerpieces and “grand prize” arrangements for a Gala at Windows in the IDS.  Wish I could have captured a picture of the amazing view.  I was asked to work using the existing bubble bowls supplied by the IDS.  I decided to make half the arrangements inside the bowl and the other half flowing up and out of the vase; all of which designed so guests could take them home at the end of the night.  Pink and Red rose petals and purple Mokara Orchids were strewn about. All arrangements and the grand prize were filled with Cymbidium Orchids, Roses, Tulips, Dahlias, Leucadendron, Spider Mums, Curly Willow, Magnolia leaves, Bay leaves, fresh Blackberries, Bear grass, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus, Ti Leaves, and Pittisporum.

1/17/09 Megg and Jimmy

Friday, February 27th, 2009

Megg and her cute MOH, Margaret, came to me looking for something classic for the bride, and something different for the rest of the arrangements.  We brainstormed and came up with an amazing combination of Standard Calla Lilies for Megg and a fluffy bouquet of Gypsophila (yes, Baby’s Breath) collared with Dusty Miller and Energym Thistle.  She wanted silver and gold accents throughout and we accomplished that with silver Brazilia, gold accent wire on the bouts, and silver and gold ornament centerpieces.  Thank you Kerri Duerr from Happily Ever After www.happilyeverafterphoto.com for these first 6 photos.

A note from the bride:We were absolutely thrilled with the flowers!  They were completely perfect with the setting, colors, our personality, etc.  Thank you for all your hard work! You definitely have our recommondation for other people looking for a florist…  Thanks for putting such a personal and unique touch to our special day!!  You will hear from us in the future.  Thanks!!-Megg

Freelancing at Koehler and Dramm

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

I was asked to help “make the showrooms look pretty” at Koehler and Dramm to display how their product could be used in a variety of ways and to prepare for their big shows.  Using all permanent botanicals, these are some of the displays I created captured by the wonderfully talented Steph from www.Eyespy-Photo.com Thanks chicky! (she took the first 6 photos, I took the rest- I want a new camera!):

La Petite Fleur is Tooting it’s Own Horn!

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

WeddingWire, the nation’s leading wedding technology company, just announced that La Petite Fleur has won the 2009 Bride’s Choice Awards™!

In its inaugural year, the Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and honors vendors from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility. This year’s recipients represent the top three percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US. That means La Petite Fleur is one of the very best Florists.

Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews.

“We are excited to launch this annual award program to honor high-performing vendors based solely on the experiences of our WeddingWire community,” according to Timothy Chi, WeddingWire’s Chief Executive Officer. “This year’s recipients have set the bar high, exhibiting excellent service and expertise in the wedding industry.”

La Petite Fleur would like to thank our past clients for speaking on our behalf and helping us win the 2009 Bride’s Choice Award!
