The first time I met RaeAnne she told me all about her wedding. She had already purchased all the items for her flowers and decor. She decided she wanted someone else to make and set everything up and asked if she could meet with me to discuss ideas. She brought her Mom and Dad to our meeting where we hit it off immediately. They wanted to show me all the items they had already purchased so we went out to my studio to take a gander. One huge conversion van full of items later, I had a pretty good idea of what we were dealing with.
After listening to RaeAnne and getting a better gauge of her style, I put together some boutonnieres and corsages utilizing real Curly Willow, Bear grass, and some Christmas Greens, and gave some of my own ideas on how to embellish her bouquet and set up the centerpieces. Her mom was so excited about my ideas that she even hired me to do a couple Christmas arrangements for her, to see what I came up with, see blog entry http://lapetitefleurmn.com/news/?p=1550.
Once I was done with all the bouquets, bouts, and corsages (and completely covered with sparkles) I took out all their different glassware centerpieces, candles, and permanent botanical sparkly things and put them on one table. I turned the rest of my studio into a mock reception hall with 20 different guest tables, two head tables, a cake table, and a buffet table and went to work. I mixed and matched all their items until there was a uniform, cohesive look that made sense and looked darn good. Since I am unable to actually do the set up the day of the wedding because I will be out of town, we took pictures and walked through all the centerpieces with their their wedding planner, DeAnna.
As far as the pictures… sorry, but I didn’t get half the pictures I should have of the many arrangements I did for this wedding. I’m missing all the bridesmaid “bouquets”, which are actually embellished candlesticks, the cake topper and accents, the pew decorations that double as centerpieces, and all the centerpieces. I did get the bride’s bouquet, the bouts and corsages, the flower-girl pomander and flower baby’s hat, and the mother’s hair clips seen below. The rest I’ll get from their photographer where I’ll get to see them being used in their true glory on their wedding day, next Sunday.
I wish them all the happiness on their wedding day and lots of love in their marriage. A huge THANK YOU goes out to RaeAnne’s parents who were kind enough to take me and the lovely DeAnna out to dinner and who I will definitely see again!
