Photo above compliments of Danio Photography www.peterdanio.com.

Shannon was a super fun bride who was almost as sassy as I am! It was fun to help plan this picnic themed wedding.  I had an idea to have centerpieces of French bread, Grapes, and wine and then each guest would have small canisters of homemade jam with green and white checkered ribbon as a favor/place-card.  The green and white checkers were carried over into the tablecloths, pew bows, handle treatment on the bouquets, and the ribbon on the corsages.

The bride’s bouquet had bright yellow Lilies, deep red Roses, bright red Roses, bright yellow Roses, yellow Spray Roses, red Celiosas (brains),  wine Callas, loops of Lily Grass, and was finished with a collar of my favorite green, myrtle. The attendant’s bouquets were  Biedermeier bouquets (concentric circles of flowers) of Lilies, two shades of Red Roses, and Myrtle greens.

The ceremony and reception took place at Woodbury’s Central Park. http://www.ci.woodbury.mn.us/PARKS/central.html

5/24/08 Minn and Stephen

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

Minn and Stephen are a sweet and innocent couple who were married at Hope Community Church in Downtown Minneapolis and had their reception at one of my favorite venues, 317 on Rice Park http://www.wildsidecaterers.com/our-venues/317-on-rice-park-event-center.php. She wanted “romantic” so her bouquet was white and pink Roses, Burgundy and white Cymbidium Orchids, and burgundy leaves. The reception centerpieces had a trio of cylinder vases filled with water and floating burgundy candles and a spray of white Dendrobium Orchids.  The large fireplace was cleaned out and filled with vases of varying sizes filled with pillar candles and strewn with white Rose petals. The cake, by Wuollet Bakery http://www.wuollet.com/weddings.asp?sPL,   has a topper and “spill” of wedding flowers.

A letter from the bride:

Hi Carra,

The day flew by so fast, I can hardly remember it! I was so happy that it was nice outside, the next day was so hot and humid. I especially loved the work you did at the reception, specifically the fireplace and the high top and low top arrangements. They were stunning and very sophisticated!

I really appreciated how you made yourself constantly available to answer questions and to provide creative suggestions. The pictures you showed me were especially helpful for me to envision the flowers. Your arrangements at the reception was exceptionally beautiful and romantic!

I’m not sure if you already know or not, but your extra boutonniere definitely came in handy!  Originally, my father was not planning on coming, but he showed up half an hour before the start of the ceremony and surprised us all.  We were very lucky we had an extra boutonniere for him, and he walked me down the aisle.  I am grateful for your thinking-ahead.  :)

Thanks again,

Minn

Carra was available to me to call up or e-mail if I ever had a question or doubt and always responded very quickly. She is also very creative, hard-working, and has a ton of ideas.

A huge thank you goes out to George Day, A.P.P. from GEO35 Studios www.geo35.com for the first 5 stunning photos.sk53-d-0942.jpgsk53-d-0962.jpgsk53-d-0972.jpgsk53-d-0992.jpgsk53-d-0982.jpgAmy and Kristopher were married at the beautiful Olympic Hills Gold Course in Eden Prairie http://www.olympichills.com/banquets/weddings.html on a perfect May day.  The bride’s bouquet consisted of 3 shades of pink Roses, white Roses, fragrant pink Peonies, light pink Rannunculas, pearl filled Stephanotis, and a collar of Myrtle.  As you can see, my daughter, Anja, couldn’t stop sniffing this bouquet! Each of the attendants carried a bouquet of white Roses and Rannunculas but each had their own shade of Pink Roses that correlated with the Groomsman they walked down the aisle with.  The pews were simply and elegantly decorated with two shades of pink bows.  The centerpieces were submerged flowers, half Peonies and half Roses, with black river rocks and floating candles.

A review from the bride as posted on Wedding Wire www.weddingwire.com:

Carra (owner and florist) was wonderful to work with - she personalized the process from start to finish from the hot chocolate at the consultation to the personalized name tags on everyone’s flowers on the wedding day. She was very well prepared and armed with zillions of pictures for me to look at during the consultation and never imposing. She had awesome ideas - I ended up going with her idea which I never would have thought of (each bridesmaid having a different shade of pink flowers with matching bouts for the groosmen). During the planning process I had endless questions and many changes to make and Carra was SO patient and extremely responsive to every single one. I went a little over budget (about $150 or so) but it was worth it. The finished product was AMAZING - exactly what I wanted. I would recommend La Petite Fleur to anyone, particularly if flowers are one of your priority items.

Celebration flowers for Cort’s Grandmother

Monday, May 12th, 2008

I was asked to make some arrangements for my police officer friends, Annie and Cort. Cort’s Grandmother, Zita, had passed away.  They wanted to celebrate her life with fun, vibrant flowers because that’s the kind of lady she was.  They told me they would like script on one of the ribbons to read, “BIG MAMA”, as that is what the grandchildren lovingly called her.  One of the arrangements was to be a wreath that would encircle a picture of her. I got the picture early so I could design around it.  I laughed out loud when I saw it because “BIG MAMA” was the cutest little grandma you ever did see!  Upon delivery I was given a glimpse of her life through the many easels filled with pictures from her life.  It looked to me as she had a full, loving, wonderful life thanks to this wonderful family.
