Get well Soon, Teresa!

Saturday, April 12th, 2008

Teresa is one of myfavorite girls to work with at jail so when one of my favorite guys to work with at the jail called to ask if I could make something to make her feel better after her surgery, I jumped at the chance to make her this arrangement of Delphimium, Peonies, Vanda Orchids, Stock, Cymbidium Orchids, Billie Balls, Waxflower, and Bells of Ireland finshed with a bright yellow polka-dotribbon bow as fresh and lively as Teresa.

Get well soon Teresa….and get back to work!

04/26/08 Alyssa and Mark

Saturday, April 12th, 2008

Alyssa and Mark were super great to work with every step of the way from the first meeting to the day of.  It may have a been blustery, cold day outside that ruined all hopes of outdoor photos, inside the stunning Edinburgh Golf Club  http://www.lancercatering.com/weddings_edinburgh.htm it couldn’t have been warmer.  No bout of cruddy weather could keep Alyssa and Mark’s awesome spirits down on their most special day.

This was a classy yet untraditional wedding. Not only did they have a best wo-man standing on the men’s side and an ice cream bar instead of cake (Num!), but for flowers they chose to have each attendant and each groomsman to have different white flowers; White Tulips, Cymbidium Orchids, Dendrobium orchids, Freesia, Roses, and Lilies which were in a classic white and green color scheme then the bride had all the flowers in her bouquet. I gave all arrangements a punch of “pool blue” by using ribbon and wire accents to pull the vibrant blue from the attendant’s dresses and men’s ties. These were my favorite bouquets to date, simple and elegant.

Thanks Alyssa and mark for making me feel so welcome and choosing me to be your florist…I owe you a beer!

A review from the bride as posted on Wedding Wire www.weddingwire.com’:

Carra was amazing. She took our vague, scattered ideas and turned them into beautiful bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces!

04/18/08 Desiree and Mike

Saturday, April 12th, 2008

These first 5 photos are compliments of Barry Howell www.pictureplace.com. les_8398.jpgles_8403.jpgles_8177-2.jpgles_8343.jpgles_8175-2.jpgles_8166-2.jpgDesiree and Mike were married at the Como Conservatory http://www.lancercatering.com/weddings_como.htm and the reception was at the newly remodeled Mendakota Country Club https://mendakotacc.memberstatements.com/tour/tours.cfm?tourid=14096

Her bouquet was a gorgeous mix of fluffy white Peonies and black centered white Anemones. The attendants had pink Peonies and green Spider Mums, and I filled in with bright pink spray Roses.

Each corsage was a bit different, some with Spider Mums, pink Waxflower, Bells of Ireland, and/or Vanda Orchids, but all were accented with navy blue ribbon.  The bouts were highlighted with a band of navy blue wire on the stem.

The plethora of centerpieces were a hit.  Tall pilsner vases were filled with wired green Dendrobium and pink Vandas and topped with a floating candle, stout cylinder vases were filed with pillar candles and floating petals, square vases held a single pink or white Peony sitting on a Monstera Leaf surrounded by votives, sprays of Vanda Orchids surrounded by red strained Dracena leaves in a square vase danced over the rims, a single green Spider Mum submerged in water, and a single, white Rannunculas floated over a bed of black river rocks.

Note the cake by Jerabeks www.jerabeks.com , which was topped by a super cute bride and groom specially made to look like the bride and groom down to the details of the flowers and her hair!

A note from the bride:

Thank you Carra for helping make our wedding day an absolute success!  After our first meeting we were confident that you were the florist we wanted to work with because of your energy and absolute passion for everything floral. You not only understood the look we wanted to achieve, but you were able to build upon our ideas to create a cohesive design.  By working within our ever changing budget, and providing extras such as the vases for the wedding party bouquets, you showed us a willingness to go above and beyond.  The service that was provided was exceptional; thank you again!

Really Carra, it was a pleasure working with you.  I will definately recommend you in the future.

-Desiree
