Brenda wanted red roses with “streamers down to her knees” and baby’s breath everywhere else and darn-it, that’s what she got!  The reception site was amazing- the 50th floor of the IDS- what a view!  http://www.marquettehotel.com/weddings.htm Brenda told me that by keeping her bouquet in fresh water it stayed beautiful for well over a week! Best wishes and keep in touch!brenda-wedsa-1.jpg

A note from the happy couple:

Carra did a spectacular job in bringing our ideas to a reality.  Everything from my bouquet to the boutonnieres and corsages were nothing less than outstanding. We were blown away by the intricate attention to detail. The only phrase my husband and I can come up with is… a touch of elegance.

Thank you very much,

 Brenda and Gideon Njoroge

Anja’s 3rd B-Day!

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

Happy Birthday, my little Sweetie!   We had a great time, we made caramel apples, had a Strawberry Shortcake pinata, had a jumpy-thing, the best pizza in town, Pizza Luce http://www.pizzaluce.com/, and lots of friends and family! I love you sooooo much A-LO! To this she would say, “I know, my highness!”

What a beautiful day for a Funky-French-Fleur-de-Lis wedding! I can honestly say I’ve never had a bride as hands-on and involved in the floral process for her wedding as Molly.  She even took some florist classes with me. She is as detailed oriented as me, and that says a ton.

She had Fleur-de-Lis on everything; the water bottles were arranged on the table into a big Fleur-de-Lis and had Fleur-de-Lis on them, the chocolate favors, the invites, the save-the dates, the programs…like I said, everything! And it looked HOT!

Her photographer is one of my favorites, Steph from Eye Spy Photos (see Julie and Brian from July ‘07 for more of her work http://lapetitefleurmn.com/news/?m=200707) and I’d recommend her to anyone http://www.eyespy-weddings.com/home.aspx. (Her photos are the super good ones- mine are the so-so ones.)

Check out Molly’s flower girl, Morgan’s, “princess pomander wand” and the ring bearer “pillow” made completely of flowers.

To get the bright colors and great texture in these wedding flowers I used Rannunculas, Scabiosa, dried Artichokes, Parrot Tulips, Dusty Miller, Lisianthus, Seeded Eucalyptus, Spider Mums, Thistle, orange-dyed cabbages, curly willow, and Love-in-a-Mist… Fun and FUNKY!

In the words of great woman I once knew, “Cheers to many years and happily ever after!”

Vikki and Joseph 10/6/07

Vikki was a great bride to work with!  She wanted “lots of Stephanotis” for her and “butter and burgundy” everywhere else.  I affectionately nicknamed her “Stephanotis Queen” because she LOVES those beautiful, little, sweet smelling gems. She had a vintage themed wedding that turned out as perfectly as the day.  From the crystals on the place-cards to the Queen Anne’s Lace in the arrangements, the theme was executed fabulously in every last detail.  I can’t wait to look through the rest of your pics over a glass or two of wine! http://www.zuhrah.org/Mansion.html

A note from the bride:

Carra,

The flowers for my wedding were so lovely… everything I wanted — and more! And you were right, the Queen Ann’s Lace was perfect and provided a beautiful vintage look! They were so lovely, I was half-way tempted to stay in town just to enjoy them! But no worries… we are on a long lay-over in Miami and we fly to Madrid in about 5 hours… I should be good and ready for some sleep by then! Thank you for helping make my wedding a perfect day… We’ll have to get together over a glass of wine and take a peek at the photographs…

Thanks so much, Carra—

Warmly,

Vikki

A review from the bride as posted on Wedding Wire www.weddingwire.com:

From the very beginning, to the final dance, everything was PERFECT! Carra talked with me about my likes and dislikes and what ideas I had for flowers for my wedding and reception. She took my ideas and with her own very creative ideas and touches created lovely decorations, bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres. My guests are still raving about the wedding and reception and all the little touches… many of those because of Carra’s ideas and execution. I would love to have another wedding just to work with Carra again!
