“Feathers and Funk” is how I’d describe this wedding! It took place at beautiful Albertson farm http://www.albertsonfarm.net.  Thank you Betsy, for letting me play with feathers, paint, and metal! And thank you, Margie from www.sandhill.photostockplus.com, for the use of your beautiful images!

A note from the bride:

I think you captured my personality perfectly with the flowers. I had just as many comments on my flowers as on the beautiful weather that we had. You were the first person to reassure me that everything would work out just fine and not to stress. You were right!

A review from the bride as posted on Wedding Wire www.weddingwire.com:La Petite Fleur was excellent!! Cara was able to blend her creativeness with exactly what I wanted! Out of everything that went into my wedding, I was most impressed and happy with my flowers and I received dozens of compliments. I would recommend her for any occasion!

What a beautiful couple and a perfect day! The attention to detail for this wedding became most apparent to me when her gorgeous mother showed me the favors, socks (”the perfect pair”) which her father lovingly made for each guest. The bride’s bouquet was made of Hydrangea, fragrant Gardenia, creamy Mini Callas, white roses, seeded Eucalyptus, clear jewels, and a collar of folded variegated Ti Leaves.  (It was my husband’s favorite bouquet I’ve made so far!)  The groom had a single Gardenia with a bit of seeded Euc. The attendants had garnet and Paprika hued roses, red Hypericum berries, garnet and tangerine jewels, variegated curly pittosporum, and collars of folded variegated Ti and Aspidistra leaves, as a constant flower, but each attendant had their own special flower; Gerbera Daisy, Dahlia, Flame Calla, Cymbidium Orchid, and Gloriosa Lily.   We re-used the podium garland around the cake.  The planned metal topper for the cake was too large, so I fashioned a last-minute bow for the top of the cake that worked splendidly! The food, music, ambiance, guests, everything was super classy and elegant.  The reception was at the 317 http://www.wildsidecaterers.com/317_home.asp which accommodated to every need imaginable.  I was so impressed with the service there, I’m saving up for my daughter’s wedding now! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of the whole day.  PS- keep an eye out for Jessica, who is looking into becoming an ab-fab wedding planner.  Jess, I will certainly recommend your services to everyone I know- Go for it!

A note from the Bride’s beautiful mother:

“Jeff and I want to thank you for making the most important day of our daughters life beautiful! The attention you paid to every detail made our special day extra special! If we had one wish, it would be that we had one more daughter so that we could work with you again for another wedding!”

A review from the bride as posted on Wedding Wire www.weddingwire.com:

Carra was such a blast to work with- professional, but real life. Nothing stiff or stuffy. Very much your friend first! She took great interest in our wedding and really took the time to get to know us and the type of people we are and in turn, her creations were gorgeous! Highly recommended. This girl is goin’ places!

Laura wanted an “explosion of flowers” and by using wine colored Callas, yellow Orchids, Circus, Wine, and Tangerine Roses, Nerine Lilies, and Italian Ruscus, finished with a handle treatment of pearl pins- that’s exactly what I gave her… KABOOM!

A note from the bride:

My experience with La Petite Fleur was very pleasant.  Carra helped me so much in deciding flowers for my wedding.  She had a HUGE variety of great floral books to look at, everything from bouquets, boutonnieres, church flowers, to centerpieces, that helped in trying to decide what flowers I wanted.  She did a great job helping me stay within my budget, and really worked with me in that area.  The day of my wedding Carra arrived on time and looked very nice.  The flowers for my wedding were AMAZING, it was my favorite part of my entire wedding, and I don’t really get that into flowers.  My bouquet and my girl’s bouquet were more than I could have ever imagined, they were perfect size, shape, and the color of the flowers were so vibrant and beautiful.  My bouquet held its shape and “freshness” through the entire day, and I had it in a vase at my home for 2 weeks.  I got so many compliments on my bouquet.  I have no complaints about my wedding day flowers, and would recommend La Petite Fleur to anyone.

A review from the bride as posted on Wedding Wire www.weddingwire.com:It was an absolute joy to work with Carra. She listened to exactly what my needs and visions were and delivered 100%. I was so thrilled with the beautiful bouquets. Each unique for my unique and wonderful bridal party. Thank you so much for going above and beyond. I felt like I was working with a long time friend.

This was my daughter, Anja’s, favorite wedding.  She wanted to help and hold the flowers as much as possible, as you can see.  She also helped deliver the beautiful blooms to the church.  Shades of pink and red roses along with jeweled stephanotis and collars of variegated curly pittosporum helped make this wedding as stunning as the bride.

A note from the bride’s mother:

Hi Carra,

I am Alicia’s mother and I just want to let you know how pleased Alicia and I were with the flowers. All of the flowers were absolutely beautiful, especially Alicia’s bouquet- they were exactly what Alicia had imagined.  We received many comments from the guests and even the wedding planner from the hotel commented on how nice they were. The day was beautiful and everything went wonderfully.  The cake was gorgeous, people thought the cake was fake it was so perfect. Thank you so much for doing such a wonderful job!

Being a life-long Saint Paul girl, I’ve always wanted to decorate an even at the St. Paul Boat House www.boatclub.org , and I finally got the chance, thanks to Laura and Steve.  My daughter, Anja, came along to help deliver her gorgeous blooms and afterwards we got to take some great shots for her birthday invites- I love living near the Mississippi!

Laura wanted all her attendants to have a common thread of green Yoko-Ono mums, pink-tipped yellow Roses, green Hypericum berries, and green/ blue jewels, but she also wanted them to have their own “special” flowers; Gerberas, Iris, and Sunflowers.  Then, I made the Laura’s bouquet to be a compilation of all of them- Too cute!lauram.jpglauraall.jpglaura.jpg

Sara’s b-day flowers

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

Sara is a funky-fresh, amazing artist who needed flowers to match for her birthday arrangement.  I came up with this number using red and Circus Roses, Echinacea Pods, Cannna Pods, Thistle, Viburnum Berries, and twisted Ti Leaves.  Happy birthday Dirty Rara!

Annette’s colors started as “Peach Fizz” then changed to a chocolate brown and ivory- but we stuck with the original color scheme of peach roses and cream wax flowers.  We used coffee beans in the stem of the tower vases for the centerpieces that not only gave us the beautiful brown color we were going for, but also a delectable aroma!

A note from the bride:

 Carra,

Your work was great! I loved the flowers- the church and centerpieces… you made my wedding the best wedding ever!!!  Thank you so much for making my dream wedding come true.  Keep up the great work!”

-Annette

From the moment I laid eyes on Katie and her mom, Margaret, I knew we were destined to meet-  What super fun people!  Katie had chosen navy blue for her attendants, so we wanted flowers that would “pop” against them, and I think we chose wisely.  We added Stephanotis to the bride’s bouquet and I got to make funky Biedermeier bouquets for the attendant’s.  Navy aluminum wire, Viburnum berries, Engerium Thistle, and satin ribbon helped tie the blue into the rest of the wedding party. The reception site at the Minneapolis Courthouse, was super fun to decorate- what a wonderful venue! http://www.eventective.com/USA/Minnesota/Minneapolis/168979/Minneapolis-City-Hall-Hennepin-County-Courthouse.html

It was such a joy working with you ladies- it’s very apparent you know how to throw a darn good party!  Thanks for letting me into your lives on your most important day!

A note from the bride:

Hi Carra-
First of all let me tell you the flowers were beautiful! They were more than I could have hoped for, and they were even more beautiful than what I had imagined. I had comment after comment on all of them. The guest just adored my bouquet as well as great centerpieces. They were so unique and the colors just made everything pop! I liked my toss bouquet so much that I ended up keeping it and skipping the toss :) It was too bad you couldn’t have been there to see the whole thing completed! The birdcage was another talked about item, they really liked that it was such a new idea but that it looked so classic. I gave a few people your contact info that are planning on getting married in the next year or 2, and if they were smart they would all use you.
Please let me know if you need anything else, and if there is ever another even in the future we will be sure to give you a call. Thanks!

A review from the bride as posted on Wedding Wire www.weddingwire.com:She is wonderful! I got everything I wanted and she knows exactly how to work with a bride and a budget! I highly recommend her for any event, and she far and away my best wedding vendor. We will be using her again!
