mothers-day.jpg Rejoice! asked me to make individual tubes of flowers to give as gifts to the women in the church.  This is what I came up with…This sunny arrangement is made of water picks filled with one yellow and one white mum that were given away at the end of the service. Thanks Moms!

Cristine and Edward live in New York, but her mother, Darlene, and I were able to meet a couple of times to plan her flowers.  Cristine and I also got together when she was in town, and the rest was done via email!   Everything turned out perfectly and some of my favorite pieces, wreaths.  I didn’t get any good shots of the bride’s bouquet- Hopefully her photographer got a good one for me.  Good luck to you, my favorite NewYorkers!

A note from the bride:

Honestly, I was thrilled with my flowers. They were so
beautiful…just what I was hoping/dreaming for in flowers. I  apologize for not telling you sooner how happy I was with the work you did.  I wish that flowers lasted forever!

-Cristine

A note from the Bride’s mom:

I wanted to take a minute to tell you how much all your hard work means to Cris and me.  Thank you so much!  I can tell by looking at the flowers that you have put a part of your self into the arrangements.  The flowers are beautiful and the arrangements look fabulous!  You have played a big part in making Cris’ Wedding a very special day.  You are a very wonderful person.  Thank you.

My friend, Annie (SPPD), recommended her friend, Steph, to me for her wedding.  Steph loves tulips so that’s what we decided to go with.  She had a beautiful dress with red stiching so she got the red bouquet, while her attendants got the white to stand out from their red dresses. Pretty tulips for a pretty bride! Congrats Steph, on your little one on the way!!!!

A note from the bride:

Thank you for the beautiful work you did on my flowers.  We received countless compliments on them.  They really helped to make my day perfect!

Thanks again,
Steph

All Hail Ardith Beveridge, Queen Florist

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

ardith.jpgI met a neat woman when I was strolling through my flower wholesaler, Koehler and Dramm (my playground) www.koehlerdramm.com one day.  I saw a lady in a room by herself designing a floral cake.  I went in and started talking with her, and just jumped in to help her with her project without even thinking.  I had no idea at that time that she was a world-renown florist, instructor, judge, author, designer of the White House, etc… and soon to be my teacher/Mentor, Ardith Beveridge AAF, AIFD, PFCI, CAFA, MSF. (Google her- she’s amazing!) She has taught me so much in the classes I’ve taken from her.   Not only has she taught me design mechanics and execution, but also valuable life lessons in respect, confidence, and perseverance.  She either answers immediately or calls me back within minutes when I call with a question, and always has a smile on her face when I see her at work.  She has referred a bride to me and has invited me to help her decorate the Govenor’s Mansion for the holidays on November 10th. Getting referred from the best really makes me feel great and keeps me plugging away at this business- Thanks Ardith! I’m so glad I had the opportunity to learn from her and continue to be of her acquaintance.
