Micki and Casey 05
Tuesday, August 9th, 2005This is the wedding where I was doing flowers with Micki’s aunt, Laurie, until well past midnight and I never once complained. Then it dawned on me… Why do I not do this for a living?!?!?!?
Looking back now, even since I was a little girl, I had tons of signs telling me to get into this profession that I had ignored; *I used to take the bus into downtown Saint Paul to go to a neat florist and give arrangements as birthday gifts….in grade-school- who does that?
*When I took those tests on ‘what you should be when you grow up’ I would always pause on the florist, but then look over it because I thought I needed to be something more.
*I got a flower tattoo when I turned 18, and now that I think about it, it looks VERY much like my little flower logo. :)
*I used to snoop into the horticulture green house at the University of Saint Thomas on my way to Law Enforcement and Psychology classes.
*I could spend days on end at the Arboretum- I love it there! www.arboretum.umn.edu .
*I’ve always been the one to either pick up the flowers for weddings, help design the flowers for a wedding, and pin flowers on at weddings. I wanted a flower engagement ring, I love to garden, flowers, flowers, flowers!!!
It’s such a pleasure to get to be with people on the happiest days of their lives and to know that I played a part in making their wedding day as perfect as they’ve always imagined by putting together and executing a wonderful, unique floral plan for each couple. I’m so fortunate to finally have my eyes opened and to be able to do what I love!
